Was Friday the 13th a Horror movie? It will be for all other directories, search engines and communities as Hedir is upgraded itself from Hedir 1.0 to Hedir 1.3 (a journey to reach Hedir 2.0 within next 3 weeks). I am sure I will not be able to forget this Friday, not because of the horror it will create for other platforms but because of joy. We have pushed ourselves really hard to do few things.

A wiki page for each category, lets take an example. I went to http://www.hedir.com/internet.html or and I saw three links here and one of it is KBase, Once I click it says

I click on it and it creates a page for me, a wiki to document the category releated information. All categories have forums with scattered information and this wiki will help us arrange it. Over to the community for testing.
Friday 13.2 beta (Hedir 1.3.2)
A story section for all the categories (it is not enabled for all categories). Users can request to enable the story section by clicking on the “enable story” button. By clicking the button it will create add a reply to the story request topic. Moderators and admins can enable it by clicking on the same button and once enabled a post will added to the request thread.

That means Hedir is now a multi digg. that is very cool. Can we expect 200 times traffic of that of digg as we have 200 (or more) diggs under Hedir .
Digg watch out, DMOZ watchout, wikipedia watch out.
I am doing some research on tags, I will forward you the papers. May be hedir can implement a special type of tagging and search engine for the first time. Tagging has a small problem and I am working on the improved version of tags.
Yes we will have many story sections. we have allowed blogs, articles, news and misc under each section.
We will be better than Digg as our architecture is better, it is based on phpbb which itself is meant for participation and community. One of the challenges I have is to make the hot stories section the best, I have used user reputation, votes, views, comments, freshness into the account while ranking.
We will be having 4 algorithms,
One for news items (freshness will have more value), articles (will work like search engine, a social search engine), blogs (freshness and user feedbacks), misc (a mix).
Since we have phpbb as backbone, we can try to show personalized results under hot story sections. I know I need to work really hard to make this happen. _________________ Web 2.0 bookmarking - I think you cant make it simpler.
