What kind of reviews are we talking about here? Can you give some links?
No particular type of review. I'm just trying to think from the eyes of the first time visitor, and how we can make the submission process easier and just as importantly, less daunting. That's why I made the point about trying to get more information about the submitter - so we can 'tailor' our responses in a meaningful way. I think some of the submitters are baffled with many of the responses relating to the technical aspects of their site. _________________ Please help us to improve HEDir by reviewing some sites.

Nozzmoking, I am brand new to Hedir and haven't even submitted my site yet becuase I am reading what other people are posting / suggesting and making changes to my site before I submit it. I am also voting on other sites because looking at other websites has given me ideas for my own.
I guess I am a bit nervous to submit my site for review because by now (after reading so many reviews) I very much feel like I have to correct a whole bunch of things. But then a part of me feels like I will never have the perfect site and that all sites need to constantly be improved and updated.
Thank you for creating this thread. _________________

Hi CC - the beauty of the review process here is that should your site not be immediately accepted for inclusion you will learn exactly why, and what steps you need to take to achieve acceptance. This can only be a good thing, as you will have many 'eyes' looking at different aspects of your site. For instance, if your site has many grammatical or spelling errors there's one young lady here who will spot it a mile away. You are effectively having your site proof-read for errors, by a volunteer. How good is that?
Same with the technical side. If your site doesn't pass muster for whatever reason, there are reviewers here who will pick up on it and more importantly, suggest what needs to be done to put it right. Ok, at the end of the process, you may have suffered the embarrassment of having holes picked in your site, but it will be the better for it. I've just had a very quick look at your site and personally, I think you should get this submitted. The main pet-hate (pun not intended!) with webmasters seems to be sites that have used scammy SEO practises. (Shady things done to push their site higher up the search engine rankings). Your site definitely doesn't fall into this category. I would submit the site, along with a msg. stating that you are looking for help/advice on how to improve any aspects of the site, including SEO (search engine optimisation).
For instance, I personally think your logo needs 'branding'. The 'cat' looks great, but the title right at the top (cruisecat.com) looks as though it's just been typed in. Which it has. I feel a more attractive typeface, worked into the 'cat' logo would look more branded, and professional. However, this wouldn't mean I would vote against the site, it would purely be a suggestion.

Absolutely. A website is a labour of love. No matter how successful and high up the rankings, your site will always need tweaks here and there to maintain, or improve on its position.
Go on, go for it! Don't forget to add some words in your sig. (just before the http://) along the lines of: Please review my site: http: etc. The more posts you make the higher the chance of getting some early reviews.

I just jumped in and threw my site out to be reviewed, without hesitation.
And in short time I found my site needed a LOT of changes, so a nice moderator offered to put it in "HOLD" status so as to give me a chance to make those changes before it acquired a lot of NO votes.
Another site I submitted garnered its required Yes votes quickly, with just a few changes.

I think I should take your help while trying to wrie a article. You have described the feeling of mine about Hedir. Thanks a lot.
