I tried to use the search box thinking I could find a certain type of site listed in the directory. But the results are from the Internet, not from the site.
What am I missing? How do I search the directory for a type of listing, like if I want to find "lottery" sites?
When you search, it is not from web but from the sites that are added to hedir
That's what I thought it is supposed to do. But when I type a term into the search box, the results list is links from the internet. On the first page of results, there were no links to Hedir listed.
Say the web consists of 10 websites on "blue widgets"
Site 1, site 2, site 3 ......, site 10
Now if you search in Google for blue widget then all these top websites will pop up as all the sites are part of the web and crawled by Google.
Now Hedir community has approved only site 1, site 5, and site 7, rest are rejected. Hedir will add site 1, site 5 and site 7 to Google custom search engine (this is not custom search, this is about custom search engine, one search engine for Hedir gifted by Google). Now if you do a search in Google custom search engine (CSE) at Hedir it will return results (pages) from site 1, site 5 and site 7 only. This is about phase 1 of CSE.

I am talking to few guys who can work with Google to customize few things for us. In next few days we will be adding annotations and ranking points under CSE.

I guess I'm still not understanding how to search Hedir for sites.
I went to the Directory page http://www.hedir.com/directory-list.html and I expected that the search bar right at the top of the page next to the Hedir banner would return results for Hedir listings only.
However, a search using that search bar returns web results, not Hedir results. This seems strange, to not be able to search the directory using the most obvious search bar. What do users get who are not Hedir members?
