Is the Site Approval-Rejection List set up so that sites get automatically moved there when they reach a certain number of NO votes or a percentage of NO?
So far I've seen a few sites arrive in the Approval list, but none have arrived in the Rejection list.
Hi Writergrrrl,
I think it's automated as well coz few days back I have seen some of the sites in the rejection table too. And i guess those were declined and moved to some other location.
Ya, this is also automated. And the conditions are just opposite of Approval Waiting List.
Btw, what made you think that whether it's automatic or manual? Have you found anything wrong in the process? _________________ "Every good thing takes time to happen"

From time to time I notice a site with 6 or 7 votes that has not been moved to the list in several days. Just recently there was one with 7 votes that had not yet made it to the list. This site got its 6th Yes vote on Feb. 9 and a 7th Yes vote on Feb.18 yet it still isn't in the Approval list (http://www.hedir.com/international-property/about19284.html).
Is there a database update process that has to run in order for the list to be updated? I see a site that got its 6th vote yesterday afternoon (http://www.hedir.com/health-resources/about17506.html) and it has not been moved yet. But it's less than 24 hours after the 6th Yes vote was cast so it may be too soon?
Ok. So, that is the problem then. But that was not there previously. May be that Josh used to run some scripts for it. Anyway, I will ask Josh to take care of this as soon as he returns. _________________ "Every good thing takes time to happen"

It would be helpful to know if there is a script or update job that gets run on a regular basis, to move sites into the list. I know some directories run an update process once a week to move all approved sites into the public directory. If this is what happens here, that would be useful to know so I can stop bugging you about this
Well, in a week's time I have not gotten an answer about whether there is a script or if sites get moved manually to the Approval list.
this site - http://www.hedir.com/health-resources/about17506.html - gained it's 6th Yes vote (100%) on Feb. 18 and by March 2 still is not on the list so it can't be approved. The submitter has done a lot of very good reviews for the directory and it's a shame her own site has sat for a week without making it to the Approval list.
I'm getting the impression that the owners of Hedir are mostly programmers, not marketers, and don't understand how important it is to get sites included in the directory very soon after they reach the required number of votes. If you want people to stay enthused about participating, you have to give them a reason to be enthused.
I've seen some nice changes at Hedir in the 6 months I've been hanging out here. But there is some room for improvement if you want to retain good members who do a good job of weeding out the crap sites from your directory and make things run nicely for you.
One of the things that is needed is that sites reaching their required votes must be approved and included quickly. If this is not an automated process yet, it ought to be.

Have you checked the site in review centre? If you look at this, you can find the site have got 5 unique reviews till now. Now if you look at the site approval list , you will find minimum requirement is 6 unique. This explains all...., I think

We've already established that the Review Centre is not always current. At times I've seen at least a 3 to 5 day lag in the time a vote or review has been done until it shows up in the Review Centre.
Today is March 4 and it still has not arrived in the Site Approval/Rejection list.
Clearly this is a manual process.
Since this is a manual process, can you set it up for someone else to move sites as required? Obviously whomever is in charge of moving them does not have the time to do it routinely.
dalecemetery.com by ireneherz is still lagging of one more unique review. Currently its having 5 unique review. A site require atleast 6 unique reviews - this is one of the criteria for sites appearing in the Approval list.
I will personally review this site and I hope the site will appear in the Approval List within tomorrow. Though I am not a very good reviewer but I will try my best and I hope my review centre update scripts which runs automatically won't let me down.

1) The review center shows 6 reviews (until 2 days ago, it showed 5 reviews)
2) The vote counter on the site's review page shows 7 Yes votes (until you did your review, it has shown 6 Yes votes since Feb. 18 ).
- Which number is the right one? From the Review Center, or from the site's review page?
- If this mismatch of numbers is supposed to be because the submitter's vote is not counted, then it is not working correctly. This site - http://www.hedir.com/artists/about19915.html - shows 2 votes (1 by the submitter) and the Review Center shows it has 2 reviews.
- Which number causes the site to be moved to the Site Approval/Rejection List?
I understand a site needs 6 unique reviews. I have to assume that if this site has 6 Yes votes, it also has 6 unique reviews, since we can't vote 2 times for the same site.
What am I missing? I see a mismatch of the numbers from the Review Center and the site vote display.
I just gone through the Review Centre update log. It missed a event for running the script yesterday. So Review Centre was showing old status for the site. I just initiate the process once again and I hope you will get it updated. I think I need to check the Review Centre data update process thoroughly once more. Sorry for inconvenience.
