How the system works

There are 5 components for the whole community review system.

A. Site Submission (You submit a site).
B. Site Review (Your site is reviewed).
C. Site Approval (Your site is approved based on certain conditions).
D. Site Addition ( Your site gets added/rejected based on certain conditions).
E. Continous Community Feedback (only the best will survive).

Following diagram will illustrate the process:

A. Site Submission:

This is a simple process.
Go back to Hedir home page. Navigate to the category of your choice, click on 'Submit Site', Choose the Free Submission plan under basic listing (right most) and the self descriptive simple procedure will guide you through.

After completing submission details, your site details are put in the specific category forum. For example - if you choose 'animation' as your site category, then your site details will appear as a forum post in the animation category forum.

B. Site Review:

Your site is reviewed and voted by community members on the basis of our Review Guide.

C. Site Approval:

Your site is sent to a 'approval waitinglist' (formerly called 'priority list') for editors/moderators after it meets the following conditions:

Total no. of reviews for your site is greater than 9.
Total no. of votes for your site greater than 6.
Total no. of yes votes is greater than 75%.

Note 1: Ranking of sites in 'approval waitinglist'(beta) as well as 'todays sites for review' list( which appears on the right menu) is based on -> owner's hedir points(35%) + total votes (35%) + total reviews for the site (30%).

Note 2: Sites in the 'approval waitinglist'(beta) are arranged by an automated system. Moderators can directly add/delete sites from this list to Hedir directory. Rejected sites can use our re-inclusion plan.

Re-Inclusion Plan:

Rejected sites are moved to 'Rejected Sites' forum manually. These sites can come back to the 'approval waitinglist' after fulfilling the following conditions:

Site gets total 25 votes
Site gets total 20 reviews.
Percentage of 'yes' votes is >75% of total votes

D. Site Addition:

Your site gets added to the directory after a final check by editors/moderators. Please note that this checking is not a re-review. It is done merely to prevent any possible manipulation attempts at getting into the directory.

E. Continuous community feedback:

At any point of time, position of your link among other listings will depend on the difference of 'yes' and 'no' votes your site gets from community members/reviewers at that point of time in comparison to other sites. More 'yes' votes will help it move up and more 'no' votes will push it down in the category listings.

Note: Currently hedir supports maximum 25 sites per category. If your site is 26th in the category, it will not be visible among the category listings ( it will be accessible in the forum though). To get back into the category, difference between 'yes' and 'no' votes for your site sould be greater than at least the 25th site in the category. This is of course attainable, as community feedback is a continous process.We keep your thread open in the forum, so that other community members/reviewers can review/vote the site even after it is added in the directory.
