currently i'm taking a break from a ALL-DAY session of training on Google Analytics.... so far it seems a very powerful dashboard.... lots information are gathered, some more than i ever needed to know.... it's very interesting to see this getting implemented more and more here, especially with the upcoming intergration with AdWords _________________ Sometimes you think you're crazy....
Isn't anyone of you a bit scared by the Google monster? In a few years time, they 'll know what color underwear you wear or the softness of the toilet-paper you use.
Google analytics is one kind of web analytics which is used to track and maintain the visitor's behavior and overall web stats. Studying those statistical results web owners can use it for different purpose like attracting more visitors, retaining existing customers; bring new features in the service provided. It also helps in calculating ROI strategically. Visitors experience is also traceable through web analytics. This is also used for purpose of customer relationship management which is known as CRM analysis. It helps in deter mining likelihood of purchasing for a customer who purchased in the past. Personalizing the site for those customers who visit sites repeatedly. It helps in calculating dollar volume of purchase either for single customer or group of customers. At a glance total market analysis is possible through web analytics. It also includes features like click through rate for a particular page or drill down behaviors of visitors etc.
Google analytics is also including these types of features and Google describes it as: “Google Analytics tells you everything you want to know about how your visitors found you and how they interact with your site. You'll be able to focus your marketing resources on campaigns and initiatives that deliver ROI, and improve your site to convert more visitors.”
Ok, google analytics is clear now. However, when a site will be using google analytics then their datas will be used by google for traffic or market analysis and will it help in SERP ranking or there will be nothing private for the site owner to google.
I always wondered why Google bought Urchin. I remember the day the news broke a couple of SEO forums having conspiracy theories about this. But I must say, offering urchin for free certainly will hurt other analytics products like webtrends.
