I use XAMPP as a local test server. Works like a charm, easy to install. PHP, MySQL and Apache sits nicely on my windows machine. No need for a seperate (old) computer, just installed it in its own partition.
Anyone else have experience with server packages for Windows machines?

I use win 2000 advanced server on an old (500 Pentium) machine, with SQL server 2000 networked to my development machines (XP Pro).
I like the separate computer configuration, I use the second computer for backup, Visual Source safe, etc. At times I leave my server on and use it over the internet for new sites that need a database that I haven't set up on my paid servers yet.
