Hedir Review : We need community ranks

In almost all the forums there is a rank system for the members and I beileve it is good, can Hedir have it too?

NewBorn 1-25
Junior 26-75
Supporter 75-150
Preferred 150 -300
Senior 301 - 500
Powerful 501 - 750
Super Powers 751- infinity

What do others say about it?

In my opinion, ranks based on post count serve no useful purpose other than "bragging rights." Many people make great contributions with only a few posts, while others can have a sky-high post count because they post meaningless comments in every thread.

I say, don't encourage elitism.

That is an interesting point but I have seen that people feel good when they are appreciated with a promotion (over here in terms of rank). IMO most of the people who contributes have a good post count as well.

I tend to agree with WF. The biggest of them all gaia online community does not show post nos. for members. I read somewhere that it is done intentionally to give a level playing field for all members and also to make new users comfortable answering to other members.

But, it is also true that ranking system can give some kind of boast to regular posters.

So, we are keeping the option open. If there is a real demand for such a system then we will implement it.

Someone would like to open an opinion poll?

I do not think we need ranks. We should stop wasting effort on discussing about "flowery" ranks and get down to do reviews.

With all due respect, it appears to me someone clocked 100 plus post without a single review.

If we really want ranks, it should be based on quality and not quantity of the post.
