Should I create a blog for search engine optimization?

That is what my question is all about? Actually, I heard that creation of blog is very helpful for search engine optimization, but how, is not very clear to me. What I think, if a blog is maintained properly then it should have fresh, new, and unique contents. Search engines love to crawl through fresh content and they will come often to crawl and index it. Therefore, link back to my main site will help search engine to crawl frequently and index it. However, is it spamming?

Well, the blog information needs to be really good, keyword rich (bit not spammy) and get some traffic.

Find your biggest competitiors and see who links to them and try to get links from those same places.
This should be one of the first things you do.

My answer is, why not? Nowadays, blogs about anything and everything are all over the Internet's pages. And doing a SEO blog is a great thing provided that you really find a unique niche in that topic because a lot have already blog about this one. Think of ways where you could make a difference among any other SEO bloggers out there. Good luck!
