Dear Members,
The Suggestion
Each category will have three forums,
- Categoryname discussion (example "animation discussion")
- Sites in Queue.
- Site Rejected for now.
Categoryname discussion (example "animation discussion")
This will allow more people to come and participate in hedir and make the categories more useful with their knowledge and experience. A imp step towards removing barriers to participation.
Sites in Queue
All the sites submitted under that category and waiting for a review will go under this forum. A replica of submission and review forum but with only sites specific to the category. This will give the experts a better playground for reviews. This will also invite more aspirants to Hedir review system. The person is not hassled with rest 9900 unrelated sites.
Site Rejected for now
Sites rejected for that category will go to this forum. Allowing some interested people to check back the rejected list for expected improvement. Also visitor will come to know the effort done behind choosing the top 20 sites under the category. This will help community gain more credibility in terms of listing.
As every move has its own pros and cons and it has it too. Let me put it down that we can eliminate few and take a smarter decision.
Advantages
- More and more category based aspirants can be invited for discussions and reviews.
- Removing the barriers for participation. As a reviewer you do not have to think about the rest of topics which are related to announcements or webmasters or other categories. This is a “to the target” approach making life simpler.
Disadvantages
- People will find it difficult for reviews as threads are distributed across different forums. (Possible Solutions: Hedir review center will take care of it or we provide the copy of the submission under two forums)
Philosophy
Today the bigger sites are bigger because the barrier to participation is very low. As Hedir community we also need to work hard to reduce the barrier to participation. All suggestions are welcome.
Hedir internal team is quite convinced that this move is a healthy one. We look forward for the community voice before taking it any further.
