This is one of the largest segments of the Internet right now and extremely popular.
We need a place to list such sites as: xanga, blogspot, blogger, myspace, myblog, flickr etc etc.

I think each category will also have blogs and some blogs are more informative than commercial websites. How about having a sub-category called blogs for each of the categories(we can start with few)?
For blog providers we can surely have one sub-cat. _________________ http://www.idealwebtools.com/blog/orkut-banned-india/ - Orkut getting a ban in India, why? Is it fair? Politicians not liking it as some voices are raised against.
I agree that service providers should be in a sub cat.
But what about places like Flickr which is not so much a blog service provider but a picture gallery provider.
Or a site like deviantart.com?
I think they all fall under a "social networking" category.
Then individual blogs would probably fall under specific categories based on their topic if there is one.
Not wure where a general weblog would go? Like my main weblog is just a bunch of stuff. The last few days have been on completely different and off the wall topics.

My 2 cents:
- blog is just a special format of a web site,
(forum is another one, maybe gallery too. It's maybe like a special journal and a book for the same topic)
- within blogs you can have subformats, like photoblogs or audio blogs
From the content they are varied as all websites, where would you place your blog if you reformat the content to the legacy format ? Under "Personal Homepages" ?
I've seen on MavicaNet that the design has a thing called filter that is orthogonal to the categories: Filters may be Online Resources, News, Job, Education, Humor, Chat ... Every link can be assigned to one and more filters. _________________ --Norbert, coming in from http://www.sitelibrary.net/
