Posted: Fri Mar 17, 2006 2:45 pm Post subject: Loanstanding.com rejection
The original post was misplaced in LindaOboe's Tiny Einstein's thread, and for some reason I can't split the topic (hey Josh, you may want to look at that too...the bottom buttons don't work at all, and when I use the top ones, "The forum I selected does not exist"). For some reason, I can't kill the post either (Josh, over to you too buddy.)
Anyway, here's the original post:

Hello,
My site loanstanding.com was rejected by you. It has been accepted in most of the directory. If you want I can resubmit my description.
Thanks.

Ravi, the reason your site was rejected was made very clear by Google Junky. You're using the Title tag to stuff keywords, and using the pipe character to separate them. This is a spam tactic, and a violation of the spirit of the HEDir concept.
You also participate in reciprocal link exchanges in such a way as to manipulate search engines, with no regard to your end user.
The other directories tend not to look as deep as we do for things, because we want to make sure that quality sites make it into the directory (not just anyone). I think you can understand this.
If you fix those two things, then you can resubmit your description. This does not in any way guarantee inclusion, since there may be other things that I missed. I just wanted to make sure you understood why your site is rejected. _________________ HEDir's Prince of Cool
You can't re-submit as long as the URL is in the database. You should edit your submission-title and ask a mod to move the submission back to the Review Forum. _________________ Please review some sites.

So, you want to edit your submission. For that you need to log in first, and then open your site submission details page (e.g. http://www.hedir.com/groupthink/about1500.html). There you will get an edit option button just below the post reply button. Now click edit button and edit whatever you want to.
Very sorry ADAM, I was not aware of the fact. _________________ "Every good thing takes time to happen"

No harm, buddy. That's why I decided to make it bold and clear (and why I started the thread in the first place). At least now, you, baggeroli, GJ, and I are aware.
Forgive me, all, for what I'm about to do, but rest assured that there is a reason behind it...I want to make this painfully obvious.
cvravi: do not resubmit until your keyword stuffing attempts are fixed on your website. _________________ HEDir's Prince of Cool
Apparantly there's a misunderstanding about re-submitting so I'm gonna make it even more obvious for cvravi and others:
there's no such thing as re-submitting; re-submitting is impossible as long as the URL/site is already submitted and therefore in the database
if your site is rejected for whatever reason you have few options:
Fix the issues which the rejection was based on. This applies to both on-site and HEDIR issues. For example: if the description was considered spammy, edit the description. If you can't edit it, ask a mod to edit it for you (be specific here). If your site was rejected because of a redirect, remove the redirect. If your site employs questionable techniques, remove them etc. and so on.
After you've taken care of the rejection issues, ask a mod to move back your submission from the Rejected pile to the Review Forum.
You could request a removal of your submission but we're not too keen on doing that. Who says the site won't be submitted again with the same issues which just increases the work-load. If you request a removal, you'd better have strong arguments to do so!

I am sorry folks, those are the keywords I am targetting and it is not stuffing. I am with in the limit for the number of words in a title. Even Google, MSN and YAhoo don't have a problem with that and in fact they recommend using Keywords in Title. I can understand that you don't want to have the Title with keywords listed in your directory. But I will not change my Web site Title just to get listed in your directory. It is not a Black hat SEO technique in no books except of yours.
ravi, we are trying to help . We saw many sites going down in previous update which didnot follow simple guidelines as told by our mods. Believe us, one day you will thank us for the advice. _________________ "Every good thing takes time to happen"
