This is a good point. From what I see, if we are adding the main site, it should be acceptable for established names like the www.

It is open for discussion.

It's because of the nature of the mirroring itself.

wwf.it is a non-English website (Italian, to be precise) promoting the World Wildlife Fund in Italy. It's a subsite of the www.wwf.com site itself. It's not really a mirror as such.

phparch.com , on the other hand, is merely a mirror and a short form. The same content is presented and it's not really done in a deceptive or misleading way (it's a lot easier to give someone the phrase phparch.com to type in rather than phparchitect.com, since the latter contains a word that is hard to spell and has a silent letter.)
