This is an interesting Hedir competitor.

It is a closed submission site. No community whatsoever. They can trumpet themselves to be human edited and all those marketing talk. In the end, it is still just another directory.

I cannot find any registration for users or to become an editor.

They need some work on their copywriting. That's problem #1.

Other than that, I agree with everything redhex said. It's just a fancy way to say "a human will review your site and depending on his/her mood, the time of day, and popularity contest, may or may not list you."

This "Weight" factor is a bit much to swallow. Especially when it comes to the domain name criteria

Is it consistent with content?
Is it keyword rich?
Is the chosen domain name instantly tells the role of website?

Those are just silly.
The proper english is lacking considering they ask for a site to be so perfect.

I could pick on this site for awhile without a problem.
It looks like just another Dmoz replica to me with some hidden agenda for them to be so strict with their criteria.

Well, I submitted SEFL. No directory has rejected it yet. So if there is a hidden agenda, we'll find out.

if I took a wild guess then I would say that they were looking for high PR sites to link back to them.
It would be interesting to see what they would do with a site that has a PR0 with everything perfect on the site.

Assuming the hosting company and server don't wonk out on me again like they did today, that is. And assuming I can find a way to fix those nasty, nasty validation errors that the script I'm using keeps spitting up....

Based on the listing dates, the site appears to be 4 days old. Wink

There will be clones and there will be copycats, but HEDir - the human edited directory will always remain the original and best Smile

Whatever improvements or plagiarism one applies to our concept, HEDir will always stand high and tall because of its community. Where do you get such fantastic people as baggeroli, Adam, Google Junky, Francesco, redhex.... to name a few?

You get an idea. Develop the concept. Contribute actively to its realization and growth. See it blossom and prosper...above all, be proud when it is hailed as a grand accomplishment by the whole world .. thats what drives me and i believe, all the members around here.

Money is a great motivator, but there are other things besides it (like the ones i have mentioned above) which keeps and is keeping the hedir wheel on a smooth run... i believe. Just my 2 cents.
