As I mentioned to Melkor in his advice library review thread, there is something in the works involving myself and a fairly large contract.
The contract has not yet been officially ratified, but the agreement is now in place in principle and has been backdated to April 1st with the company in question. So I think I can share some more details, although I still need to be somewhat vague since I'm not really sure what I can and cannot reveal.
It's a 16-hour-a-week contract for a not-for-profit organization that's partly funded by the Government of Canada and other not-for-profit funder types. It's web design and IT combined, and some of the sites will be submitted to HEDir as I go through them and rework them/build them/rebuild them/etc. and so on. I'm not really sure of the duration of the contract as of yet, but I've been working with the organization on an on-call basis for about the last 3 years now, so I suspect it's going to be for at least the next few months.
And, without getting into financial details, let's just say it's a very fair and reasonable offer, and one that most people would probably kill for.
Anyway...how this affects HEDir: I'll be around some days and not others, so don't expect to see me going on every single day...I just can't. So I'll try to do reviews in big honey bunches of oats to make up for that. I'm not sure which two days a week/16 hours, because they're flexible and depend on who's doing what and where I need to be (they have a head office and 5 satellite locations).
Needless to say, it's a pretty big deal for me and I'm excited. _________________ HEDir's Prince of Cool
I should explain that it's not really a project though...it's an ongoing maintenance/promotion/growth type of deal. It's a combo of design and IT, mostly the latter...which is kind of weird because I always considered it a secondary skill set.
Anyway...more details to come (likely when I'm submitting all the sites to HEDir for review. ) _________________ HEDir's Prince of Cool
