I use made up stuff all the time. One of them is SPAD, which is a website that uses RSS feeds to create fake content, just to load up the rest of the page with Advertising from the Goog, Yahoo, Adlinks and others. Or, a website that will have only one paragragh of text, and 18 ad's all over the page.
SPAD=SPAM + ADVERTISING. Get it? I know, I know, stupid, but fun anyway.
Anybody got any words they'd like the share? Just the HEDir community. Our own dictionary of words or sayings that only relate to us here in the community.
For instance.
Doorknob post: A post that is so popular, everybody gets a turn.
Ghost Riders: Those that post a submission of a good site, but never show up to the community again.
Black Betty: A community member that hates everything he/she sees. Every submission he or she reviews gets blasted to black charcoal.
Code Nazi: Either you have 100% valid code, and used absolutely no tables in your design, or you are the spawn of hell and deserve to die at the hands of an angry gorilla with no moral compuctions of using tweazers creatively.
DOA: Website's featuring black backgrounds, purple text, GOTHIC TEXT font, or a font nobody has heard of, weirdo dhtml affects like "STARS ALL OVER THE PAGE!" and content like, "Welcome to my website about this thing. Click here for more information on a different thing, and click here to contact me, and click here see our listing someplace else. Oh yeah, this thing is good, and most people like it, because it makes them rich and that is cool."
And others. Post your word and definition. Should be fun. _________________ Ambivalent? Me?
Well, yes and no.
Here are some of my preexisting ones, as well as some new ones that may catch on.
Josh: the elusive and mysterious HEDir Developer who I apparently managed to rename. Good thing he's a good sport about that.
Network Link Farm: A series of similar sites in a closed network, each submitted to directories, article sites, etc. and then networked together by one author or a small group of authors.
Rat Pack: A group of blackhat SEO practitioners from WebProWorld who many of us have run into from time to time (also known as GOS, or Geeks on Steroids).
STDR: Sites That Deserve to be Reviewed. My sticky thread containing the cool sites that should gain acceptance into HEDir.
That's all I got for now. _________________ HEDir's Prince of Cool
Cool. Didn't know about the Rat Pack, but I suspect heavily on some.
I like STDR.
How's this.
STDTLA: Sites That Deserve To be Laughed At.
Golden Child: A good site, well designed, good navigation, original content, and is an all around good example of what to do right. _________________ Ambivalent? Me?

I cannot prevent myself from posting something here.
STDR and STDTLA are cool. But the STD prefix is just amusing to me. Imagine that we comment STDR or STDTLA in the reviews. Wonder what will adsense gives?
For me, I will suggest TRASAP. To review as soon as possible. It can be good sites or bad sites. Some site are sweet and it will be good to approve it asap. And some sites are just so bad that we should get it out of the review queue asap also.
Ok, here's a new one. It's evident right here in the thread, and I've seen it all over the forums lately. Some are spammers, some are...I just don't know.
BIG FOOT: Dedicated to the mysterious poster who signs in as a guest, drops one line, and then dissappears. Strange because there's no spam, no real "comment." and just spooky.
