Apache, the most popular web server software on the Internet suffered a substantial slide in market share in March, the research firm said. Compared to the previous month, Apache lost six percentage points from 68.7% to 62.7% due to a large-scale migration from Apache to Microsoft software at domain registrar GoDaddy. Microsoft gained almost five percentage points and stands now at 25.2%. According to Netcraft, GoDaddy will shift a total of 4.4 million hostnames from Apache to Windows Server 2003.
This is a heavy slide for Apache and a big gain for Microsoft. What do you use as a web server? _________________ http://www.idealwebtools.com/blog/orkut-banned-india/ - Orkut getting a ban in India, why? Is it fair? Politicians not liking it as some voices are raised against.
IIS. It's easy enough to configure, I can administer it remotely without having to do all that much, and it never gives me grief. _________________ HEDir's Prince of Cool

I have never used IIS and I am quite happy with Apache and a webmin setting. The best part of Apache is open source applications available under it. _________________ http://www.idealwebtools.com/blog/orkut-banned-india/ - Orkut getting a ban in India, why? Is it fair? I am an Apache freak and have no plans to try IIS even if it losses some market shares. _________________ Web 2.0 bookmarking - I think you cant make it simpler.
Mmm, and the "loss" of marketshare is because of goDaddy moving 4.5 million parked/inactive domains.
Which means of course that the netcraft stats are as useless as they've ever been - parked domains shouldn't count either way in any statistic over what web sites use. Since a parked domain isn't a site _________________

Statistics are like Bikinis, what they reveal is suggestive but what they hide is essential _________________ http://www.idealwebtools.com/blog/orkut-banned-india/ - Orkut getting a ban in India, why? Is it fair? Politicians not liking it as some voices are raised against.
