Hedir Review : Interesting sites to explore!!!

Hi guys,

For quite sometime I have been thinking to propose some unique or interesting sites for Hedir. Those sites have really amazed and amused me and I guess it had the same effect on the other users too. May be this would make you puzzled as to whether these sites should be in Hedir and what would be the use of such sites? See, people get fascinated with websites that are well maintained, focused and unique features. The likes of http://www.lunchclock.com/ , http://www.dontclick.it/ and http://www.deathclock.com/ would definitely set good examples in the course of this proposal.

Henceforth, I'd like you guys to explore the features of these sites and shower your opinions about them.

lunchclock is useless to me. Deathclock cannot be loaded.
Dont click.it is a very interesting side that I had visit maybe a year back or so. It shows a very interesting concept and I highly recommend it. Go ahead and visit it, please do click on it. LOL.

Anway, the concept on donclick.it, IMHO, will go the way of the QWERTY keyboard. QWERTY keyboard are design to slow typist down, back in the days of the typewriters. Newer design had been shown to increase typing speed and reduce repetitive stress injuries. But QWERTY still strive cos of the inertia of change. Likewise, dontclickit may pave a way for a better user experience but I do not see it getting mass appeal anytime so.

Imagine a office where you cannot hear any mouse clicks. Slient and peaceful.

BTW, I have browsed through your suggested sites and really liked the features. May be, they are not related to my business but unique in nature. Yeah, I often come across such sites but right now unable to recall them. If I find again, I'll definitely post them over here.

I think you struck an interesting idea. I think having a category for unique off-the-wall sites with a playful, commercially unpragmatic, twist might give Hedir users added value.

I'd like to hear what the community thinks about having such a category in principle, and what value it could give to Hedir users and Hedir, if at all.

At this point, I believe it could be an interesting experiment to add such a category (though I wouldn't know what to call it) and see what transpires.

Waiting to hear from fellow Hedirs.

Hey there !
Its been almost 3 years now that Surfing through the net had been an amazing pastime for me ... many a times I've come across these funny sites.
To all those who take things at heart these sites are really meaningful ! Sometimes these sites are helpful too. I'm sure on a busy day lunchclock would be helpful to remind me of lunch and likewise people like my wife are always interested to know about the future happenings. So I'm sure that they'd cherish the idea supported by deathclock! I have reasons to appreciate this initiative taken up by the Hedir community.

They are interesting ideas Michelle. I am a firm believer that to get a quirky unique site that people will really enjoy, you have to be productive. The domain name for "Don't Click It" is a clever way of presenting it. Similiar to del.ocio.us. I can see Don't Click It being a bit overwhelming since it seems to move and change by the mouse moving about... hence "Don't Click It". Lunch clock I could see people using it, I can't see people revisting "Don't Click it" more than once. People need something from a site, I don't see the overall appeal... but that being said, I think its a good project that can grow into something else, since you or whoever made the sites is trying to think outside the box. Deathclock did not load

i think thats a great idea by Michelle. i love to visit (and revisit) sites that are innovative, inspirational and unique in nature .. projects that are intended to try out new things. these sites need our attention and support too.

i think we may go ahead with the idea and for this purpose we may use Hedir Openmic. whenever we find a unique site we may go ahead and post the url along with a small synopsis for others to explore.

I like the idea too. Just one cat should be sufficient and the normal HEDIR rules should apply: 10 positive votes for the Unique Picks cat otherwise move it to a "normal" appropiate cat.

Thanks guys. I am lucky that I could suggest something to Hedir and that is accepted by most of the community members.

I think, Rammy have suggested a good category name (Unique picks). And this category can be put under Entertainment category.

What do you say guys ?
