I'm wondering what your thoughts/experiences are on site and/or domain age affecting the Googlebot behaviour.
We have noticed that newly registered sites are apparently slowly spidered in "sections," not all the content is spidered immediately even though the internal links may be obvious and all pages' code is verified.
On the other hand, established sites will be spidered in their entirety much more quickly, even in the case of a complete site redesign.
Also, does anyone know if domain registration period has any obvious effect? That is, if a domain is registered for 2 years+ instead of 1 year at-a-time, does that have any noticeable SE effect?

Older the better, sandbox shows their preference. Though googlebot does crawl website on regular basis and has nothing to do with age but SERP surely will be affected. I have noticed a strange thing for last 3 to 4 months that they are crawling well established sites less frequently than a new site.

Another rumor, Google has many other factors to judge the quality. This can't tell anything about the business or the service.

This is what I would have believed, but we have been watching one of our newer sites and Google initially crawled only the first "layer" of pages (including the complete sitemap). It's been months and we only recently saw the spider crawl *some* of the second "layer" pages. It's not like they have crawled the site and SERP is low, but they are literally only crawling the site a few pages at a time, every few months...? _________________ Alter-Ego profile migration - we need beta testers! I know it is tough but I had to take this step, our original script was based on an open source application which is completely non OO.
I tried integrating few things with it to make Hedir system faster but every time it was eating my time. I have decided to change the whole code to Pear classes, a CRM and a CMS. It will take some three more days; I have already completed Forums integration, signup, and login. I won't be able to release half done modules.
Please bear with us. In order to scale up we need to have a quality base code.
