Hedir Review : Are you on the hedir community map ?

It will be fun to have a graphical representation of Hedir community based on geo locations.

Thanks AjiNIMC, is there someone who can help us integrate it with Hedir. http://www.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/ will help you start. I am already into a lot of work, lets code together. Any takers.

thats a good Idea, I can work on it provided I get a team of PHP programmers from Hedir community. It will be fun, lets make a Hedir community map.

The advantages of hosting it at hedir is:
1. Pull the data directly from the member profile.
2. The members dont have to enter their details at some other wbsite.

I have the following suggestions to make:
A. Embed the maps below the forum latest discussions.
B. Show the moderators in the red color and the members in green color icons.
C. Create a MAP of the websites in the hedir directory also.

Sorry, I'm not clear... is this going to be tracking addresses from user profiles or site listings...?

I'm not sure how many users will want their exact street address appearing on a map. I don't have a big problem telling people what city I'm in, but I'm not sure I'd go any more detailed than that... I guess it's up to each user!

However, I think providing an option to submit physical addresses on the map for directory listings and having them appear is a very cool idea. Smile

I just gave my hometown, not my exact street address. Should be enough.

No, I'm a bit confused like Acorus. This thread started with the call to join the HEDIR group at frappr.com so I did. But I don't see it on the map in this forum (yet).
