Cellpadding. Sweet. delicious cellpadding. I can actually READ things without lines being in the way.
Rockin'. This is much, much better. I like the format now.
Could you repeat the category/pagination select boxes at the bottom though?
You might also want to put a "GO" or "SUBMIT" button to the right of this part for the non-JS-enabled types like nlgw. (If he hasn't found this yet, he will.) _________________ HEDir's Prince of Cool
1) It shows sites (well, in my case a site) that I already submitted.
2) It shows sites that I already reviewed and voted on.
If you could remove both of those, that would be cool.
As far as the rejected sites goes, I have an idea. There are two classes of rejected sites, the way I see it...the ones that were rejected for spammy/scummy stuff, and the ones that were rejected simply because they weren't good enough.
If we could somehow separate the ones that are rejected for spammy/scummy tactics into one forum that would be locked for new posting, and keep the ones that are legit in a different forum for ongoing review, then I think we're okay.
And to take it one step further, a link or something where the rejected sites that need to be "re-viewed" could be put into the Review Center.
Mind you, that's a bitch of a job to deal with and the longer HEDir is up, the harder it gets. _________________ HEDir's Prince of Cool
Just a little follow up to tell how I use this tool..
When I have a chance to log in and review a few sites I open the review center, hit the 'No of reviews by submitter' and sort most to fewest.. Then start at the top and work my way down.. If the No of reviews is 0, I don't even look at it anymore..
That gives me less than three pages of things to review.. And once the ones I've already reviewed start dropping off of the list, things will be even better..
I may have picked the wrong timing to get involved. This morning I reviewed 6 sites and received one "yes" vote on my site. None of this activity is reflected in the sites reviewed by submitter column or the "yes" votes column.
Possibly because activity same day as taking the Beta version live?
monsterdraft: you need to add something like "Please review my site" in your signiture area of your posts.
You can add it in your profile.
be sure to link the text with the url http://www.hedir.com/groupthink/viewtopic.php?p=27344#27344
So while you are reviewing other sites they also see that you have one that needs looked at.
Thanks for the tip GJ - I will add signature link.
However, just to clarify - I wasn't complaining about lack of attention to my website. Rather, the activity that I have logged today (reviews by me of other sites and reviews by others of my sites) is not showing up in the beta forum.
Signature:
This is a block of text that can be added to posts you make. There is a 255 character limit
Then add this.
Code:
[url=http://www.hedir.com/groupthink/viewtopic.php?p=27344#27344]Pleas e review my website[/url]
It should, I think, show up on all the posts you have made already.
Alo if you use it as a sig link then it will change in all your posts if you decide you want to promote a different site for review.
We do look at old posts a lot and your new link might be there.
Using it in a post won't allow for it to change ever.
Our developer josh is working on resolving the issues with the review center. Please allow some time to get everything fixed. _________________ Evolution is always better than revolution. My attempt at Blogging!
Can I ask what the process is that helps the rejected, accepted sites become updated in the database so they are reflected as we see them in the review center? Certainly it isn't immediate in the review center or at least it hasn't seemed so.
Is it on a schedule using CRON or is this a manual thing?
If at all possible I would love a feature where I don't see review submissions that I have voted yes or no on.. I am an incredibly random reviewer and this one feature would keep me from having to dig through what I have already reviewed and spend what little time I do have reviewing sites..
