Hi all,

Please help me!!!

When I was new to link matters, submitted unknowingly to some sites, which looked like directory but actually were FFA (Free For All). Also there are some sites which fall under bad site category. Will those links be harmful for my site now? If yes, is there anyway to sort out that?

Thanks
Jerry

Just don't link back to the FFA sites.
I had a long explaination to tell but it is all SEO theory that links must go both ways for it to really matter. I follow that theory.
There are many sites that add links when another site never asked for it to be there. So I dont see how you could be penalized.

Jerry, I did something similar a long time ago when I thought any link was good. Then I learned about FFA's and I was worried my sites would be penalized.

I've never seen indication that my sites were having problems from being linked in those places. I never linked back to them, and I think FFAs are short term links anyway - after a month or two I believe older links drop off. I don't know this for sure.

I agree with the others. As long as you're not linking to them now you should be fine. Whatever you do, don't panic! Cool

I've got a FFA links page that I put there for people to use for fun and I made it 'noindex, nofollow' in the theory it would have no SE effect at all. Does anyone think this will cause a problem anyway?
