There are some manual traffic exchange on the Internet.
I was experimenting with it last few weeks, and it seems it does not work.

Yes, it sends some users in, but it is likely they are never interested in your site.

I`d like to know your opinion about.

Thanks Jackie. It is just what i was asking for.
To check what people thinks about.
I am thinking it does not worth using, after my experiments with it.
But it always good to ask around.

I'm also interested in what this is. Can you please elaborate further? In my opinion, some traffic is better than no traffic (at least that's the approach I'm taking thus far Rolling Eyes )

Ok, i`ll try to explain what it is.

Manual traffic exchange sites, works next way:
1. You register yourself an account there, it is free and you need only working e-mail to do so.
2. You login into and start surfing sites they want yo to (there is kind of surf bar with timer, then timer comes to zero, you`ll press next & get some credits)
3. Credits can be used to add your site into rotation (if there is nothing wrong with it, i mean content, frame breakers and so on).
4. For each site surfed you`ll get some credits, the amount is different at each manual surf site. Fore example with 100 credits you have got, you are able to show your site 50 times.

They pretend what this users, will view your site, but i think this does not work. Surfers are not interested in your site, they are interested in a timer.
Still, if you want to try this - pm me, i`ll send you links which i have used before.

If to look at this from point of getting traffic (not thinking about quality) , then auto surfs better then manual, because timer is automatic. You do not have to sit there & press buttons, just start it and go to sleep. Still, it does not work for sites which need users interested, you`ll get hits this way, but you`ll not get registrations or something alike.
Still, if you want to try this - pm me, i`ll send you links which i have used before.

After reading your description, it looks like a manual traffic exchange really won't be that helpful. In my opinion, people will just be clicking so they can meet requirements. Most people trying to use one will not be "shoppers" or "customers" that my site requires, just other web programmers trying to create traffic to their (or their client's) sites.

Thanks for describing it though, Random - I didn't know such a thing existed.

Interesting idea, thanks for explaining that. Do you have to sign up for long or can you just have a go? Could be quite fun to try out - please send me the link.

You have to sing up, and better if you would use some e-mail you do not care about (it can be spamed). Free membership gives less, but it does not expire. There is also a way to pay for different kinds of membership, but i do not think it is a good idea.
One more thing, it is better to have good firewall installed & updated.

-----------------------
I have come to conclusion what purpose of this sites, as well as 99% of all other sites, is to generate income. Keep this in mind, and everything will be fine Wink . They use your surfing to distribute among paid accounts, surf ratio is about 1:3 to 1:5.
Finally i ended up using only one Auto surf, it does not takes my time & still deliver some mindless hits.
With manual surfs it was terrible. I was loosing about few hours in a day, instead of working on my site. I am not going to use it anymore.

I agree with you guys, this sounds like a complete waste of time and will not benefit your own site in any way whatsoever. There are too many of these 'schemes' around.

If you want more quality traffic to your site, and not just some guy who's not even old enough to own a credit card, then you need to concentrate on the tried & tested SEO basics, which again boils down to: quality, theme-related incoming links, loads of product or informational content and a correctly-optimised site.

Just my personal view, but I think many people give up too early when working on their sites, as they don't see instant results. Remember, getting quality traffic is a long-term project. Stick with it, follow the accepted guidelines and you will eventually be rewarded.

Getting sucked-in to traffic boosting schemes will cost you many hours of wasted time.

I feel terribly guilty when I email some webmaster (usually with a site that contains a directory section) -- asking for them for a link and they eventually reply:

Done! Could you now add a link back to our site please?

Oh ... my .. soul aches!

I tried one of those manual link exchange sites for a week. I saw nothing useful in it. Since I was only interested in clicking the most links in the shortest time, I am sure that's what every other person does also. I got no actual useful traffic (eg. "paying customers") from that experience and I wasted too much time that I should have been spending on reviewing the site to make sure it is top notch.

Schemes of any kind rarely pay off for the participants.
