Can anybody here throw some lights on the issue that how can a small investor like me do marketing a site @ no budget?

I run a Real Estate type of site.

here is what you can do

1) submit your site to directories
2) write articles on your topic and distribute
3) create rss feeds of your site and distribute
4) register in a real estate forum (realestatewebmasters.com is a good one) and use signature link to your site in your posts
5) create ebook and distribute
6)exchange links with complementary sites
7)maintain a niche in your market
8 ) send me only $1000 for above advice Wink

Only one way out in the real estate industry, make a business plan with differentiating ideas and then slowly apply few things. Also try and find a VC Smile

I know few who made some good money with no budget campagins. They wrote hundreds and hundreds of articles in few months and also did link exchange, article submission, rss feed submission, directory submission e.t.c.

Is it no budget? I think my time is money too, so nothing can be no budget in true sense. I think a business with one good brain and few good hands can make it a success. Do not calculate Investments(I), always calculate ROI(Return on Investments).

Well, honestly with regards to web marketing, in one way or the other, you really need to set a budget in marketing your site. But then again, budget in web marketing needs not to be big. There are tools which asks for a little amount of money in exchange for promotions. Just do some research about this first and see which service fits your budget and suits your needs. And of course, while waiting for that "service", you may want to try a little promotional task yourself. There are a lot of ways to do marketing withput spending a dime. And this includes, submitting your url to as many directories and search engines on the web. You could also promote your site on forums as this one and share what are the benefits you could give your target customers. Be creative, there are a lot of ways than one here. Good luck!

I searched for "Feed submission directory" in google and got the single result of this forum discussion. Well optimized. But guys can you provide me names of different feed directories.

I also recommend creating a blog, where you will add a link to your actual website. Then keep submitting the blog wherever you can- that's easy with so many blog directories out there!

search Google for the name "Allan Gardyne" and download his 77 ways to get traffic report.

There are also completely free ways to do keyword research using overture and the Google adwords keyword tools.

Submit sitemaps to Google and Yahoo as well and learn about social bookmarking - there is a good tutorial on a site called seo2020 (google that one as well)

I'm sure there are some good free guides to good on-page SEO Google "on page SEO" :p

Use a free press release service but take some trouble to find a newsworthy topic, e.g. about people and real estate, not about your site itself.

Submitting to free non-reciprocal directories

Writing informative articles - they need to be of interest for people to want to link to them! Once you have an article, create as many rewritten versions of that article as you can. Keep one version on your site, and submit others.

Blogging about your products and services and submitting your blog to blog directories. Reading related blogs, and leaving meaningful comments - not spam

Onpage optimisation to make your site as friendly as possible for the search engines, whilst maintain usability for those visiting your site. After all, theres no point getting traffic to your site only to have people leave immediately!

If you are selling a product, there are some affiliate companies that are free to set up with, and just take commission on sales.
