It is great idea to connect the voting system with displaying this site in category. It will make also Hedir's link popularity grow.

Great.

As Norah said. Give power to moderators. This surely will.

This would be very interesting to read policy statement about it. I am questioned by submitters about deletion of rejected threads.

I think that Articles ought to have additional/unique criteria. I found myself in a grey area when attempting to review articles.

Would appreciate pointing me to additional guidelines, if I overlooked them on the Reviewer's Guide or elsewhere.

Thanx Smile

kappixteam: Which parts did you find as grey or have a question about?
Anything particular?

Take for instance the article "Buying a home? Consider Hiring an Attorney", which I reviewed. According to the reviewer's guide, reviewers can either/or review content or technical aspects (design, html validation, etc) of a site. While the former is relevant to reviewing articles, the latter is not completely relevant.

As a result, I didn't know whether to reject or accept the above-mentioned article. Please read the article and review, see if you can make out the 'grey' area I referred to earlier.

Thanx Smile - oh, you can call me Nancy if you like - it's shorter than kappixteam.

Latest Blog Post : I am working on template - suggest changes

Hi Nancy,

When I review a site, I review it from the customer's (or visitor's) point of view. Also I check for Search engine spamming which is common practice to get higher ranks. I also check for pop-ups, advertisements and in general the working of the site as a business. I check for the contact information and their testimonial pages. I also check the freshness of the contents. A complete visitor experience analysis.

If you can please give me the URL for the review page then I can offer my help Smile.

Thank you bret. I was referring to reviewing an article from the article directory, which, if I am correct, is not a site submission but rather an article. Please follow the link below.

The review guide says we should check for w3c validation (does not mention CSS validation, by the way, even though we are using that as a criterion to base votes on).

I would like to know if a site is required to be 100% html validated? Or is there a certain number or type of errors that is acceptable?

Recently a vote was withheld from a site that validated on one day, then had 3 html errors a couple of weeks later - http://www.hedir.com/groupthink/about15925.html

Is this what we should be doing? Could this be clarified a little please?

My interpretation: you could check for W3C validation. For me a site's not required to be 100% valid unless it's a webdesign site. I try to look at usability whenever there are html errors. As long as they don't interfere with the usability of the site, I'm ok with it.

As you can see it's really a personal decision how you'd like to review a site. Some go for content, some for code and others for a mix of both.

Review center seems to be out of order...
I tried few recently submited sites, and few sites wich have lot of YES votes, and every time i`m getting "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." or "new_pageThis page does not exist."
What is happening ?
