Yesterday I was planning to have my own site, but when I went for register a domain then I come to know that, this domain is already booked and now they are offering me at $50.
When I searched for problem I found this story.
Quote:
The uproar in the blogosphere about Network Solutions' domain-registering policy has prompted ICANN to investigate it, though the company notified the oversight body before instituting it, reports eWEEK.
The policy works like this: When people search WHOIS on Network Solutions' site to determine whether a name is available, but didn't register it, Network Solutions immediately registers it and offers it for sale for $34.99. That's nearly $30 above the going price, reports WebProNews. There's been a lot of outcry about this, such as at dotsauce.com, which urged a boycott.
