I read through multiple posts on here about "free directories" and spent several hours submitting to a lot of them (I think one link on here led to around 400 some odd "free" directories).

Most of them promised an email response within a week (saying "accepted" or "denied"), but thus far, I have only received a few emails. My concern is that several of the directories are "dead" and no longer managed, and that my time was wasted.

What's your opinion on this? Have you found any legit free directories? Or are most of them old and no longer managed?
